What is the purpose of the symposium?

The purpose of the Asia-Pacific Academic Mental Health symposium is to create a dedicated and supportive space for sharing new research and practices that focus on mental health in academia.

What are the goals of the symposium?

Our major goal is to encourage more conversations about how to build mentally healthier work environments for students, academics and staff in universities.

We also hope that the symposium will:

  • Identify practical strategies to improve wellbeing in universities.
  • Build a sustainable Asia-Pacific research network on academic mental health.
  • Promote collaboration across multiple disciplines including organizational behavior, psychology, and education.

How much does it cost to register?

How is the symposium funded?

The symposium is kindly supported by the UQ Business School and the MOC Division of the Academy of Management.

Can my organisation sponsor an award?

What can I submit?

We invite proposals for oral presentations, posters and roundtable discussions.

Im a postgraduate student – can I submit an abstract?

Yes! Masters and PhD students are strongly encouraged to submit their work.

Can I attend virtually?

Yes, and we offer a reduced rate for virtual attendance.

When will registration open?

We anticipate general registration will open in late July.
